I excitedly get off my car as I get my handbag and another bag for my husband. I cooked some of his favorite food that I haven’t done for him yet. It’s my first time doing it for him.
I decided to have a surprise visit in his workplace.
I entered the building as everyone bowed and greeted me.
“Good morning Madam Chairman.” The personnel greeted as I responded him with a smile.
I continued on walking as I reached the elevator.
“What a surprise to see you here Madam Chairman. W-why are you here?” Peter asked me as he blocked my way.
“Why not? This is my husband’s building. I just want to visit my husband. Is it bad?”
“I’m sorry for my inconvenience Madam Chairman. Should I join you to his office?” He bowed and asked me.
“No. I can manage. I always have my security with me anyways.” I refused as I looked at the two guys who’s standing from the back. I was about to enter the elevator when Peter suddenly grabbed my hands and pulled me back that leads me to fell above him.
I hurriedly stood up as I fixed myself. It took me a minute to do so because I got stuck with him. I felt embarassed of what just happened. Did our both faces inch closed to each other like that? I could even feel his breath!
“I owe you a pardon Madam Chairman. I… I just wanna remind you what I told you last time. You’re body isn’t in good condition right now to handle such situation. Please let me join you.” Peter sincerely said as I could traced it right in his eyes.
“D-don’t worry Peter, I can handle this.” I forced a smile as I entered the elevator.
He’s Peter Chan. He’s one of the business partners of my husband. But beyond from being business partners, they were really close friends ever since. They both studied on the same university abroad. They really had a long-term acquaintance.
I’ve reached the 60th floor where the office of my husband is. I went inside to his office while wearing a wide smile.
“Honey I’m he—” My jaw suddenly dropped because of disbelief of what welcomed me.
It was Astrid who’s on top of my husband. They were both kissing and they could even make out in his office if I’m not this early. Astrid is the secretary of my husband for about 3 years already. That whore! This might not be the first time for them to play dirty behind my back.
“Wh-what the hell?! Why are you here Scarlett?!” They stopped from what they’re doing. Kevin stood up as he zipped in his pants and buttoned up his sleeve. He really got the nerve to rise his voice at me.
“Why not? Did I disturbed you? Anyways, you can continue of what you guys are doing. I’ll just wait here.” I sarcastically said as I sat on the couch.
“Get out from office now!” Kevin held my wrist as he grabbed me out from his office.
Everyone is looking on us already, but I don’t care.
“How could you Kevin?!” I slapped him and let him feel the pain he’s causing. But one slap is not enough to ease me from pain he had caused me.
“I don’t love you anymore Scarlett. You’ve changed! I mean, look at yourself! I’m so done with you!” His eyes glazed as his tongue hit me with an insult.
“There! Finally you said it right in my face! You don’t love me anymore because of my condition? I should’ve believed what Peter told me earlier. You made me think of this Kevin, did you really love...

me or did you just used me to save your company?” My tears tend to stream down on my cheeks but I wiped it already because I don’t wanna look weak in front of anyone.
I should’ve conceive a prejudice that Kevin could go this low.
“Just get out of my building Scarlett! We’re over! I already filed a divorce and that would be effective after you signed the papers. Now, I think you don’t have any business here anymore. Security!” Kevin called the security as I saw Astrid smirked and rolled her eyes.
The securities tend to approach and bring me out of the building, but they failed because my two men already blocked their way. They couldn’t even touch the tip of my hair.
“Are you okay Madam Chairman?” Peter asked.
“I’m okay, thank you Peter. You two, you’re both fired!” I bid my gratitude to Peter as I suddenly glazed my eyes to the two guys who tried to bring me out of the building a while ago.
“You think you have the power to do that Scarlett?” Kevin said and tried to insult me again. He really think that he’s superior than me.
“What do you think Mr. Lee? Don’t you remember that you borrowed 5 billion US dollars from me? So technically speaking, I already have almost and the remaining of the shares in your company. The moment you borrowed 5 billion US dollars from me to save your company, is the moment you also risk your position as the Chairman of Lee Construction. Now, ask me if I have the right to do so. Better talk to my lawyer soon my dear future ex-husband.” I said that made Kevin and Astrid dropped their jaw because of disbelief.
“This can’t be! How dare you Scarlett!” Kevin shouted as he tried to hit me using his hand, but Peter suddenly gave him a punch on his face that he really deserve.
“Like what you’ve said Chairman Kevin Lee. No! No! Cut that, I’m sorry. Like what you’ve said ‘ex-Chairman’ Kevin Lee, the divorcement will be effective the moment I signed the papers. Now, I want you and your concubine out of my building when I get back. I just want to clean the mess in this building before I appoint myself as the new Chairman of Lee Construction.” I smiled as I turned my head back and walked away.
I’m Scarlett Choi and I have Alopecia areata universalis. It’s a condition that leads to lost my hair all over my body. As a woman, it is considered as our crowning glory. The hair is one of the things that embodies a woman. And the moment I lost my hair, it felt like I lose a half of me.
I thought losing my hair would be the greatest pain I could ever feel, but I was wrong. For I realized that losing someone I loved the most, losing my husband because of it is much worst.
I lost my husband because of my condition. But also because of my condition, I found out that his love is not that tough as what I have for him.
Kevin was my first love and I thought he will be until the end, but what happened to us already speaks that he’s really not the one meant for me.
The reality already hit me, the reality that I just wasted my time for someone who doesn’t deserve at least a pinch of it. He just wasted the love I have for him.
I have Alopecia areata universalis, but it didn’t makes me less as a human, because I’m Scarlett Choi and that makes me stand out from the others.
